SCAD stands for something different for me. It means: Scary Cat of Art Dreams. That basically sums up my life. I didn’t follow my dreams because of fear. I was scared to follow the path unknown. I played it safe, but I live with regret every day. Now I’m too settled to follow my dreams. I have two jobs that support me, my condo, student loans and my bills. It took me a really long time to admit that I was scared to go away and also go to art school. Even though, I applied to the University not once but twice, once for undergrad and once for graduate studies. I gained acceptance both times but I declined both times. It was too much for me all at once. I wasn’t a fan of change, but I now realize change is good and my life would’ve been totally different if I followed the path unknown.

My dream is to gain a degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Fashion Marketing & Management with a minor in Advertising.

People with a degree in this field go into a variety of professions. I would be interested in careers in:

Fashion Forecasting

Fashion Promotion

Fashion Public Relations

The University states on their website under the Fashion Marketing & Management curriculum that:

“Working with real clients allows students to put into practice in the field the theory they learn in the classroom. Operations, planning, purchasing, advertising, trend forecasting, product promotion, visual design, retailing, sourcing and product development are all covered in the curriculum while students work with clients and explore the rich resources available at SCAD.”

“Fashion marketers and managers use global marketing, promotion and distribution strategies, and apply creative thinking in the business world to help their products reach consumers.”
